My absolute favorite author just released the first book of her brand-new series, Legacy of Heathens: Mattheo, and let me tell you — I was hooked. I don’t know if it’s the way she describes every scene or the way she pulls you in with her storytelling, but I devoured this book in less than two days. I freaking love her. One day, I hope to write stories as captivating as hers — the kind that grab you from page one and don’t let go.

It’s so exciting to see this new series unfold while still bringing back familiar characters from the Belles and Mobsters world. This book follows the story of Mattheo Vitale and Amara Morelli — a love that started in childhood and evolved into something deep, powerful, and a little bit dangerous.

The story also weaves in the tale of twin sisters, Hanna and Amara, both in love with the same man. Hanna tried to claim him since they were toddlers, but Amara captured him — she was always the one meant for him. Cameos from Nico, Bianca, Grace, Luciano, and the rest of the original crew bring that same intensity and passion fans know and love.

Mattheo asks for Amara’s hand in marriage, but there’s a twist — Luciano and Nico believe he was supposed to marry Hanna, who always pursued him. But his heart? It belonged to Amara. When Hanna finds out about the affair, she disappears. Amara trying to find her sister goes to ireland where Mattheo tracks her, kidnaps her, and forces her to marry him so nothing — and no one — can separate them again.

There’s also a darker subplot involving the re-emergence of the Belles and Mobsters contract, now centered around Organ trafficking, which adds depth and urgency to the story.

I seriously can’t wait for the next book, coming in July, which will tell the story of Nikola — son of Isabella and Vasili — and Skye, daughter of Dante. The anticipation is real!
